Job Description
An experienced AB / Cook is required for a long-term, ongoing offshore project operating from Italy near Algerian waters, aboard a Heavy Lift Vessel.
The position combines general deck duties with cooking responsibilities for a small crew of approximately 4–7 people. The successful candidate should be interested in returning to the project on a 6 weeks on / 6 weeks off rotation, rather than working a single trip.
The project is scheduled to start in mid-October 2026. An Algerian visa is required before mobilisation. Assistance with the visa application will be provided, provided the candidate can apply from their country of residence.
Key Responsibilities
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
- Perform general AB deck duties and support daily vessel operations.
- Assist with mooring, cargo handling, deck maintenance, and other deck activities.
- Prepare daily meals for a crew of approximately 4–7 people.
- Maintain high standards of galley hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness.
- Follow all vessel safety procedures and company policies.
Requirements
- Previous AB experience
- Previous offshore / maritime experience is an advantage
- Cook Certificate or HACCP – Required
- Valid STCW certificates
- Valid medical fitness certificate
- Valid passport
- Passport must be valid for at least 6 months
- Ability to obtain an Algerian visa before mobilisation
- Candidate must be able to apply for the visa from their country of residence
- Proficiency in English communication
- Willingness to work a 6/6 rotation on an ongoing project
