Job Description

Fortis Engineering is seeking a qualified Second Mate to join its marine operations.

The successful candidate will assist with navigational duties, bridge watchkeeping, voyage preparation, and the maintenance of navigational equipment and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform navigational watchkeeping duties
• Assist with passage planning and voyage preparation
• Maintain navigational charts and publications
• Monitor bridge equipment and navigational systems
• Maintain accurate navigation records
• Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures

Requirements

• Relevant Officer of the Watch Certificate of Competency (CoC)
• Valid STCW certification
• Valid seafarer's documents and certificates
• Relevant experience as Second Mate
• Good English communication skills
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Strong knowledge of navigation and watchkeeping procedures
