Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Pumpman to join a Malta-flagged Oil Tanker engaged in cabotage operations in Italian waters. This position is ideal for a skilled tanker professional with extensive knowledge of cargo handling systems, ballast operations, and pump maintenance.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe loading, discharge, transfer, and monitoring of liquid cargo while maintaining cargo equipment and complying with all international tanker safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Supervise the loading, discharge, and transfer of liquid cargo following approved operational procedures.
Operate and maintain cargo pumps, ballast systems, pipelines, valves, and associated equipment.
Carry out routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of cargo handling systems.
Monitor cargo operations and ensure compliance with MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM, and company safety procedures.
Maintain accurate cargo operation records and report any equipment defects or operational issues.
Requirements:
Valid STCW certificates.
Medical Fitness Certificate.
National Seaman's Book.
Proficiency in English communication.
Certificate of Proficiency STCW II/5 or II/4.
Proven experience as a Pumpman on oil tankers or similar vessels.
Strong knowledge of cargo handling systems, ballast operations, pump maintenance, and tanker safety regulations.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Good physical fitness and ability to perform physically demanding work onboard.
