Job Description:
SSM Maritime Services Inc. is urgently recruiting a qualified Oiler to join a Container Ship. The successful candidate will assist the engine department with machinery operation, monitoring, lubrication, maintenance, and general engine-room duties to support the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Assist engineers with the operation and monitoring of main and auxiliary machinery.
Carry out lubrication, cleaning, and routine maintenance of engine-room equipment.
Assist with planned maintenance, inspections, and mechanical repairs.
Monitor machinery condition and report defects or abnormalities.
Maintain good housekeeping and comply with engine-room safety procedures.
Requirements:
Previous experience as an Oiler
Container Ship experience preferred
Valid Oiler certification/COP as applicable
Valid STCW certificates
Valid medical fitness certificate
Valid seafarer's documents and passport
Good command of English
Ability to work effectively as part of a multinational crew
Available for urgent joining
