Job Description:
Laurel Carriers is seeking qualified Oilers to join a Bulk Handysize vessel for mid-August deployment. The Oiler will support the engineering department by assisting with engine room maintenance, machinery operation, and ensuring the safe operation of mechanical equipment onboard.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Assist engineering officers with engine room operations.
Perform routine maintenance and lubrication of machinery.
Monitor engine room equipment during watchkeeping duties.
Maintain cleanliness and safety within the engine room.
Report equipment defects and assist with repairs.
Requirements:
Valid STCW certificates
Medical fitness certificate
Proficiency in English communication
Valid Oiler Certificate of Proficiency
Previous experience as an Oiler on Bulk Carrier or similar vessel preferred
Basic engine room maintenance knowledge
