Job Description

Columbia Shipmanagement Indonesia is recruiting an experienced Oiler to join a Bulk Carrier vessel.

The Oiler will assist the engineering department with machinery inspections, lubrication, routine maintenance and engine-room housekeeping to support the safe and reliable operation of onboard machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring engine-room machinery and equipment.
• Carry out lubrication and routine machinery inspections.
• Support planned maintenance and basic repair activities.
• Monitor equipment conditions and report abnormalities.
• Maintain engine-room cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Follow instructions from engineering officers and comply with onboard safety procedures.

Requirements

• Previous sea-going experience as an Oiler or in a similar engine-room position.
• Bulk Carrier experience is preferred.
• Relevant certificates of proficiency and professional qualifications, as applicable.
• Valid STCW certificates appropriate to the position.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Valid passport and seafarer documents.
• Knowledge of engine-room safety, lubrication and routine maintenance.
• Good English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multinational crew.
