Job Description

Avant Garde is urgently recruiting qualified and experienced seafarers to join its fleet of Bulk Handy Vessels.

We are seeking maritime professionals for deck, engine and catering positions. Candidates must have relevant sea-going experience, appropriate maritime qualifications and a valid US Visa.

Successful applicants should be ready for immediate mobilization and able to join according to the required deployment schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Master

• Take overall command of the vessel and ensure safe navigation.
• Supervise all onboard departments and vessel operations.
• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and company safety procedures.

Second Officer

• Perform navigational watchkeeping duties.
• Assist with passage planning and bridge operations.
• Maintain navigational equipment and safety documentation.

Able Seaman (AB)

• Carry out deck maintenance and routine vessel operations.
• Assist with mooring, anchoring and cargo-related activities.
• Maintain deck equipment and follow safety procedures.

Ordinary Seaman (OS)

• Assist with general deck duties and maintenance.
• Support mooring and cargo operations as instructed.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping on deck.

Chief Engineer

• Manage engine-room operations and technical personnel.
• Maintain propulsion machinery and auxiliary systems.
• Ensure safe and reliable operation of all engineering equipment.

Electrician

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment.
• Carry out inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Report electrical faults and equipment abnormalities.

Oilers

• Assist with engine-room machinery inspections and maintenance.
• Perform lubrication and routine machinery checks.
• Maintain engine-room cleanliness and report defects.

Engine Cadet

• Assist engineering officers with daily engine-room duties.
• Participate in machinery inspections and maintenance.
• Complete assigned onboard training activities.

Chief Cook

• Prepare meals for the vessel's crew.
• Manage galley operations and food provisions.
• Maintain food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.

Requirements

• Valid US Visa – mandatory for all positions.
• Previous sea-going experience relevant to the applied rank.
• Previous Bulk Carrier experience is preferred.
• Valid STCW certificates appropriate to the position.
• Valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) or Certificate of Proficiency (CoP), where applicable.
• Valid seafarer's medical fitness certificate.
• Valid passport and seaman's book.
• Relevant professional qualifications and endorsements.
• Good command of English and effective communication skills.
• Ability to follow onboard safety procedures and international maritime regulations.
• Immediate availability for joining next week.
