Job Description

BlackHarbor Maritime Services Pvt. Ltd. is currently recruiting qualified and experienced seafarers to join a Panama-flagged General Cargo Vessel with a GRT of 5,290.

The company is seeking experienced deck officers, engineering officers, ETO, ratings, and catering personnel. Successful candidates will support safe navigation, cargo operations, engine-room management, vessel maintenance, and onboard catering while maintaining compliance with international maritime regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the assigned rank, duties may include but are not limited to:

• Perform duties according to the assigned rank and company procedures
• Support safe navigation, bridge watchkeeping, and cargo operations
• Assist with cargo loading, discharge, securing, and cargo care activities
• Operate and maintain main engines, auxiliary machinery, electrical systems, and deck equipment
• Carry out planned and corrective maintenance, inspections, and repairs
• Perform mooring, anchoring, deck maintenance, and general vessel operations
• Maintain cargo spaces, engine-room areas, and operational equipment as applicable
• Participate in emergency drills, toolbox talks, and onboard safety meetings
• Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ISM Code, and company HSE procedures
• Maintain vessel operational readiness and effective teamwork onboard

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of relevant experience in the applied rank
• Previous General Cargo Vessel experience preferred
• Experience on similar cargo vessels may be considered depending on the position
• Valid COC / COP as applicable to the position
• WKN as required
• Indian and Panama certificates/documents accepted according to the vacancy requirements
• Valid STCW certification package
• Valid Passport, Seaman’s Book, and Medical Certificate
• Relevant professional certificates for the applied position
• Good English communication skills
• Strong safety awareness and teamwork abilities
• All certificates and documents must be valid and up to date
• Physically and medically fit for sea service
• Immediate availability for joining

Position-Specific Requirements

Master
• Valid Master CoC
• Minimum 6 months relevant experience in rank
• Previous General Cargo vessel experience preferred
• Strong navigation, cargo, and vessel-management skills

Chief Officer
• Valid Chief Officer CoC
• Minimum 6 months relevant experience
• Previous cargo vessel experience preferred
• Strong cargo handling and deck management skills

2nd Officer
• Valid OOW / 2nd Officer CoC
• Minimum 6 months relevant experience
• Previous cargo vessel experience preferred

Chief Engineer
• Valid Chief Engineer CoC
• Minimum 6 months relevant experience in rank
• Strong knowledge of propulsion and auxiliary machinery

2nd Engineer / 3rd Engineer
• Valid Engineering CoC appropriate to rank
• Minimum 6 months relevant experience
• Previous cargo vessel engineering experience preferred

ETO
• Valid ETO Certificate of Competency / relevant qualification
• Minimum 6 months relevant experience
• Marine electrical, automation, and control systems experience

AB
• Valid Able Seaman certification / Panama COP as specified
• Minimum 6 months relevant experience
• Previous General Cargo experience preferred

Oiler
• Valid engine-room rating certification / Panama COP as specified
• Minimum 6 months relevant experience
• Experience with engine-room maintenance and machinery operations

Engine Fitter
• Relevant fitter / mechanical qualification
• Minimum 6 months relevant experience
• Marine machinery maintenance and repair experience

Chief Cook
• Minimum 6 months relevant marine catering experience
• Relevant Food Hygiene / Food Safety certification preferred
• Ability to prepare meals for a multinational crew
