Fitter for VLCC Vessel

Job Description

Jebsen PTC Maritime Incorporated, a PIC Group company, is seeking a qualified and experienced Fitter to join a Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC).

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the vessel’s Engineering Department with mechanical maintenance, repairs, fabrication, and general upkeep of machinery and equipment. Experience working onboard tankers, particularly VLCCs, will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Carry out mechanical maintenance and repair work on vessel machinery and equipment.
• Assist Engineers with planned and corrective maintenance.
• Perform fitting, fabrication, welding, and pipe-work activities as required.
• Inspect mechanical components and identify defects or signs of wear.
• Maintain tools and workshop areas in safe and serviceable condition.
• Follow all onboard safety, environmental, and company procedures.

Requirements

• Proven sea-service experience as a Fitter.
• Previous tanker experience preferred; VLCC experience is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repair.
• Relevant welding/fabrication and fitting skills.
• Valid STCW certificates.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Proficiency in English communication.
• Valid seafarer documentation.
