Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Fitter to join a Malta-flagged Oil Tanker engaged in cabotage operations in Italian waters. This position offers the opportunity to work onboard a modern tanker, supporting the Engine Department through maintenance, fabrication, and repair of machinery and vessel structures.
The successful candidate will possess proven experience as a Fitter on oil tankers or similar vessels and will work closely with the engineering team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of onboard equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Carry out welding, fabrication, and metal repair work on machinery and vessel structures.
Assist the engineering team with maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical equipment.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
Maintain tools and workshop equipment in safe working condition.
Comply with company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and ISM requirements.
Requirements:
Valid STCW certificates.
Medical Fitness Certificate.
National Seaman's Book.
Proficiency in English communication.
Certificate of Proficiency STCW III/5 or III/4.
Proven experience as a Fitter on oil tankers or similar vessel types.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Good physical fitness and ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
