Fitter for Handysize Vessel

Job Description:

Stella Marris Shipmanagement Inc. is recruiting 5 Fitters to join Handysize vessels. The successful candidates will support the engine department with mechanical maintenance, machinery repairs, overhauls, and fabrication work. The role requires practical mechanical skills and the ability to maintain onboard equipment in safe and reliable operating condition.

Key Responsibilities:

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs on vessel machinery.
• Assist with overhauling and servicing engines, pumps, valves, and other equipment.
• Perform fitting, welding, and fabrication work when required and qualified.
• Support engineering officers with inspections and planned maintenance.
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment and comply with onboard safety procedures.

Requirements:

• Valid STCW certificates applicable to the position.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Valid Seaman's Book and passport.
• Proficiency in English communication.
• Relevant mechanical fitting experience.
• Previous experience as a Fitter on merchant vessels is preferred.
• Experience on Handysize vessels is an advantage.
