Job Description:
Michaelmar Phils., Inc. is urgently recruiting a Fitter to join a Bulk Carrier vessel of approximately 29,000 GRT. The Fitter will support the engine department with mechanical maintenance, repairs, fabrication, and general machinery-related duties onboard. Candidates should be available for urgent deployment and meet all applicable maritime requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Carry out mechanical maintenance and repair work on vessel machinery.
Assist engineering officers with troubleshooting and corrective maintenance.
Perform fitting, fabrication, and workshop duties as required.
Assist with planned maintenance and inspections of mechanical equipment.
Follow onboard safety procedures and technical instructions.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Fitter onboard merchant vessels
Bulk Carrier experience preferred
Experience on vessels of similar size preferred
Valid STCW certificates
Medical fitness certificate
Proficiency in English communication
Valid seafarer's documents and relevant certificates
Availability for urgent deployment
