Job Description:
A reputable shipping company is currently recruiting an experienced Deck Fitter to join their fleet of Bulk Carriers, General Cargo Carriers, Transshipment Vessels, Cement Carriers, and Multi-Purpose Carriers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out deck machinery maintenance, repairs, fabrication work, and supporting the vessel’s technical operations. Applicants must have previous experience in the same rank and vessel type, as well as proven experience working onboard foreign-going vessels with multinational crews.
This opportunity is open for Indonesian seafarers ready for immediate deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Perform maintenance and repair work on deck machinery, equipment, and fittings.
Assist with welding, fabrication, and mechanical repair tasks when required.
Support deck department operations and planned maintenance activities.
Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe condition.
Follow company safety procedures, STCW requirements, and onboard regulations.
Requirements:
Valid STCW 2010 certificates
All certificates and documents must have a minimum validity of 18 months
Valid Medical Fitness Certificate
Proficiency in English communication
Indonesian nationality required
Minimum 36 months foreign-going vessel experience
Previous experience in the same rank and similar vessel type required
Experience working with multinational crew preferred
Valid passport and seaman documentation
