Job Description:
Odyssey Ship Management OPC is recruiting motivated and career-oriented Engine Cadets to join its expanding merchant fleet.
This opportunity is designed for aspiring marine engineers who want to develop their technical skills through onboard training and practical engine room experience. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of senior engineering officers while learning vessel machinery operations, maintenance procedures, and technical safety practices according to company standards and international maritime regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Assist senior engineers with daily engine room operations and maintenance activities.
Participate in onboard training programs and develop practical engineering skills.
Support inspection, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance tasks.
Maintain engine room records, checklists, and training documentation.
Follow company procedures, STCW regulations, and onboard safety requirements.
Requirements:
Relevant Engine Cadet training documentation or equivalent certification
Valid STCW certificates
Valid Medical Fitness Certificate
Proficiency in English communication
Willingness to learn and develop a career as a marine engineer
Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and professional development
Ability to work onboard merchant vessels in a multicultural environment
