Job Description

Kvarnership is looking for an Engine Cadet to join a Chemical Tanker vessel for an upcoming deployment in November 2026.

This opportunity is suitable for an entry-level candidate interested in developing a career in the maritime engine department. Previous experience is not required.

The successful candidate will assist the engine-room team with routine duties, cleaning and basic maintenance under the supervision of the engineering officers and ratings.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the engine-room team with daily operational duties
• Help maintain cleanliness in the engine room and machinery spaces
• Support routine maintenance and cleaning activities
• Assist with tools and equipment under supervision
• Follow instructions from the engineering officers and senior ratings
• Participate in onboard safety drills and training

Requirements

• Previous experience is not required
• Basic knowledge of engine-room operations is an advantage
• Valid STCW certification appropriate to the position
• Valid passport, seaman's book and medical certificate
• Good English communication skills
• Willingness to learn and work as part of an engine-room team
• Strong safety awareness and responsible attitude
