Job Description:
Odyssey Ship Management OPC is recruiting motivated and career-oriented Deck Cadets to join its growing merchant fleet.
This position is designed for aspiring deck officers who are ready to begin their professional maritime careers through structured onboard training and practical sea experience. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of senior deck officers while developing essential navigation, seamanship, cargo operations, and safety management skills in accordance with company procedures and international maritime standards.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Assist senior deck officers with daily deck operations and navigational duties.
Participate in onboard training programs and gain practical sea experience.
Support cargo operations, safety drills, and deck maintenance activities.
Assist with inspections, documentation, and routine shipboard tasks.
Maintain accurate training records and comply with STCW requirements and company procedures.
Requirements:
Updated DCOC (Deck Cadet Officer Course) or equivalent cadet documentation
Valid STCW certificates
Valid Medical Fitness Certificate
Proficiency in English communication
Willingness to learn and develop a career as a deck officer
Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and professional development
Ability to work onboard merchant vessels in a multicultural environment
