Job Description

Kvarnership is recruiting a Deck Cadet to join a Chemical Tanker vessel for an upcoming deployment in November 2026.

This position is suitable for an entry-level candidate seeking to gain practical experience and develop a career in the deck department. Previous experience is not required.

The Deck Boy will assist the deck crew with routine maintenance, cleaning and general deck duties under the supervision of the Bosun and deck officers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with deck cleaning, painting and maintenance
• Help maintain deck equipment and working areas
• Support the deck crew during mooring and anchoring operations
• Assist with routine onboard duties as instructed
• Follow directions from the Bosun and deck officers
• Participate in safety drills and onboard training

Requirements

• Previous experience is not required
• Basic knowledge of deck operations is an advantage
• Valid STCW certification appropriate to the position
• Valid passport, seaman's book and medical certificate
• Good English communication skills
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a deck team
• Strong safety awareness and responsible attitude
