OS / Crane Driver for General Cargo Vessel

Job Description

Scanmar Maritime Services, Inc. is inviting applications for the position of Ordinary Seaman with crane-driving duties onboard a general cargo vessel. The successful candidate will support deck operations and cargo handling while maintaining safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Assist with cargo handling and operate cranes when qualified and authorized.
• Support deck crew during loading and discharging operations.
• Perform cleaning, painting, and routine deck maintenance.
• Assist with mooring, anchoring, and securing operations.
• Follow safety procedures and instructions from supervisors and deck officers.

Requirements

• Relevant Ordinary Seaman qualification and applicable STCW certificates.
• Crane-driving qualification or certification, as required for the assigned duties.
• Previous deck and cargo-handling experience is an advantage.
• Valid seafarer medical fitness certificate.
• Valid Seaman’s Book and passport.
• Proficiency in English communication.
