AB / Crane Driver for General Cargo Vessel

Job Description

Scanmar Maritime Services, Inc. is seeking an Able Seaman with crane-driving qualifications to join a general cargo vessel. The successful candidate will perform deck duties and assist with cargo handling using onboard cranes, subject to the vessel's procedures and authorization requirements.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Operate onboard cranes for cargo handling when duly qualified and authorized.
• Assist with loading, discharging, and securing cargo.
• Perform routine deck maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Participate in mooring and anchoring operations.
• Follow lifting plans, safety procedures, and instructions from the responsible officers.

Requirements

• Valid Able Seaman qualification and relevant STCW certificates.
• Documented crane-driving qualification or relevant crane operator certification, as required.
• Previous experience with cargo handling and crane operations is preferred.
• Valid seafarer medical fitness certificate.
• Valid Seaman’s Book and passport.
• Proficiency in English communication.
