4th Engineer for General Cargo Vessel

Job Description

Scanmar Maritime Services, Inc. is recruiting a qualified Fourth Engineer to assist with engine-room operations and machinery maintenance onboard a general cargo vessel. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of senior engineering officers and help ensure reliable vessel performance.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Assist with the operation and maintenance of engine-room machinery.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Monitor assigned equipment and report defects to senior engineers.
• Maintain machinery spaces, tools, and maintenance records.
• Follow engine-room safety, environmental, and emergency procedures.

Requirements

• Valid Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency appropriate to the position and vessel requirements.
• Valid STCW certificates.
• Valid seafarer medical fitness certificate.
• Valid Seaman’s Book and passport.
• Proficiency in English communication.
• Relevant engine-room experience and sea service appropriate to the rank.
