Job Description

Columbia Shipmanagement Indonesia is seeking a qualified and experienced Third Engineer (3/E) to join a Bulk Carrier vessel.

The successful candidate will assist the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer with engine-room operations, machinery maintenance and the safe and efficient operation of propulsion and auxiliary systems onboard.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation and maintenance of engine-room machinery.
• Carry out routine inspections and planned maintenance.
• Monitor auxiliary engines, pumps and other technical equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting and mechanical repairs.
• Maintain engine-room records and report equipment defects.
• Follow onboard safety and environmental procedures.

Requirements

• Previous sea-going experience as a Third Engineer or in a similar engineering position.
• Bulk Carrier experience is preferred.
• Valid engineering Certificate of Competency (CoC) appropriate to the rank.
• Valid STCW certificates and relevant endorsements.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Valid passport and seafarer documents.
• Good technical knowledge of marine machinery and engine-room operations.
• Good English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multinational crew.
