3rd Engineer for General Cargo Vessel

Job Description

Scanmar Maritime Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified Third Engineer to support the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's engine department. The successful candidate will assist with machinery maintenance, engine-room operations, and compliance with safety and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Operate and maintain assigned machinery under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Assist with inspections, troubleshooting, and planned maintenance.
• Monitor machinery performance and report defects or irregularities.
• Maintain engine-room records and follow maintenance schedules.
• Comply with engine-room safety and pollution-prevention procedures.

Requirements

• Valid Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency appropriate to the position and vessel requirements.
• Valid STCW certificates.
• Valid seafarer medical fitness certificate.
• Valid Seaman’s Book and passport.
• Proficiency in English communication.
• Relevant sea service in the engine department is required as applicable to the rank.
