Job Description

Elburg Shipmanagement is urgently seeking a qualified Second Engineer to join an oil tanker. The successful candidate will support the Chief Engineer in managing engine-room operations and maintaining the vessel’s machinery and technical systems.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise engine-room operations and assigned engineering personnel.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of main and auxiliary machinery.
  • Carry out planned maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Monitor machinery performance and report technical defects.
  • Follow onboard safety and environmental-protection procedures.

Requirements

  • Valid Second Engineer’s Certificate of Competency.
  • Relevant experience on oil tanker vessels.
  • Valid STCW certificates and seafarer documents.
  • Valid medical fitness certificate.
  • Proficiency in English communication.
