Job Description:
Transocean is currently seeking an experienced Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) Supervisor to join its offshore drilling operations. Reporting directly to the Drilling Superintendent, the MPD Supervisor will oversee all Managed Pressure Drilling activities, supervise the MPD Specialist, and ensure safe, efficient, and compliant drilling operations onboard floating drilling units.
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in planning, executing, and optimizing MPD operations while ensuring compliance with company Operational Discipline, HSE standards, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Supervise and coordinate all Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) operations onboard.
Prepare, review, and update MPD operational procedures, hydraulic models, and operational calculations.
Monitor maintenance, inspection, certification, and inventory of all MPD equipment.
Perform MPD well control calculations, kick tolerance analysis, and operational modeling.
Coordinate MPD activities with drilling crews, third-party service providers, and customer representatives.
Ensure compliance with Operational Discipline, Permit to Work (PTW), and company HSE policies.
Conduct MPD well control drills, hazard assessments, and After Action Reviews.
Mentor and train MPD personnel, Drillers, and Assistant Drillers in MPD operations.
Participate in MPD HazOp, HazID, and FMECA studies.
Promote continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and safety culture onboard.
Requirements:
High School Diploma, Trade School Certificate, or relevant technical qualification (University degree preferred).
Valid Medical Fitness Certificate.
Valid Well Control Certificate as required by company training matrix.
Minimum 5 years of offshore Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) experience.
Previous experience as MPD Supervisor on floating drilling units is preferred.
OEM Managed Pressure Drilling Operations Training.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic modeling software.
Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Thorough understanding of offshore drilling operations and MPD systems.
Excellent English communication and leadership skills.
Ability to mentor, supervise, and develop offshore drilling personnel.
