Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project HSE Advisor / Supervisor for an upcoming freelance assignment.
The successful candidate will provide project-level Health, Safety and Environmental support, with a particular focus on projects involving contaminated soil and contaminated sites.
The role requires strong HSE experience, proven knowledge of TRGS 524 requirements and the ability to communicate confidently in German.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HSE supervision and advice throughout the project.
- Monitor compliance with applicable German HSE and environmental requirements.
- Support safe execution of works involving contaminated soil and contaminated sites.
- Identify hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
- Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Monitor contractor compliance with HSE procedures and project requirements.
- Support risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work processes.
- Investigate and report incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the project team.
- Liaise with project management, contractors and site personnel regarding HSE matters.
- Maintain accurate HSE documentation and reporting.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project HSE Advisor / HSE Supervisor.
- TRGS 524 certification and proven practical expertise – mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience with contaminated soil / contaminated sites – mandatory.
- Strong project HSE experience.
- Good knowledge of German HSE and environmental requirements.
- German-speaking capability – mandatory.
- Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently on a project site.
- Available to mobilise ASAP.
- Relevant HSE qualifications and certifications are an advantage.
