Description
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is hiring a Junior Geological Engineer in Training to join our group in Burnaby, BC.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote safety culture by ensuring site specific HSE policies and safety standard procedures are adhered to
Monitor environmental drilling, instrumentation installations, and core sample collections
Installation of various instruments pertaining to slope stability and foundation assessments
Construction monitoring
Instrumentation monitoring
Geotechnical Core logging
Report writing of field and laboratory results
Skills / Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Geological Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
Experience with soil and groundwater sampling would be an asset
In support of the team, able to deliver on independent assignments in line with expectations.
Able to work in both the office and field environments
Flexibility to work a variety of schedules (from 1 week on up to 3 weeks on shift (days / nights))
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Reliable and punctual
Valid driver's license and able to provide driving abstract
Able to work in a variety of terrain conditions
