Job Description
Fontis Energy is currently recruiting qualified and experienced offshore drilling, marine, mechanical, electrical, maintenance, HSE, and rig operations professionals for assignments in Mexico.
The company is seeking experienced personnel to support offshore drilling and rig maintenance operations. Job Responsibilities
Depending on the assigned position, duties may include:
- Support safe and efficient offshore drilling and rig operations.
- Perform duties according to the assigned role and company procedures.
- Supervise and coordinate drilling crews and rig activities where applicable.
- Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair drilling and offshore equipment.
- Support crane, lifting, deck, and material-handling operations.
- Carry out preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance.
- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and control systems.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and repair activities where required.
- Monitor HSE compliance and support safety training programs.
- Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, inspections, and emergency drills.
- Maintain equipment, technical records, and operational readiness.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary offshore team.
Requirements
General Requirements
- Proven experience in offshore drilling rig operations or a closely related Oil & Gas environment.
- Previous experience in the applied position.
- Relevant technical, trade, engineering, marine, or HSE qualification as applicable.
- Valid offshore safety and industry certifications required for the position.
- Valid Passport and Medical Certificate.
- Good English communication skills.
- Strong safety awareness and professional attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a multinational offshore environment.
- Physically and medically fit for offshore work.
- Willingness to work rotational offshore schedules.
Position-Specific Requirements
OIM / Toolpusher / Night Toolpusher
- Extensive offshore drilling experience in senior supervisory roles.
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations, rig management, and HSE systems.
Driller / Assistant Driller
- Proven experience operating and supporting drilling equipment.
- Good understanding of rig-floor and well-control procedures.
Barge Engineer
- Relevant marine/offshore engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of rig marine systems, stability, and ballast operations.
Derrickman / Roughneck / Roustabout
- Previous offshore drilling rig experience preferred.
- Knowledge of rig-floor, tubular handling, deck, and general rig operations.
Crane Operator / Assistant Crane Operator
- Valid offshore crane/operator certification as applicable.
- Proven lifting and crane-handling experience.
Rig Maintenance Supervisor / Senior Mechanic / Mechanic / Motorman
- Relevant mechanical qualification or trade certification.
- Proven experience maintaining offshore drilling or marine equipment.
Senior Electrician / Electrician
- Relevant electrical qualification.
- Experience with offshore rig electrical systems, power generation, and distribution.
Senior Electronic Technician
- Relevant electronics/instrumentation qualification.
- Experience with offshore control, automation, instrumentation, or electronic systems.
Safety Training Officer
- Relevant HSE, safety, or training qualification.
- Proven experience delivering safety training in Oil & Gas/offshore environments.
Welder
- Relevant welding qualification.
- Proven industrial, offshore, or Oil & Gas welding and fabrication experience.
