Job Description
A drilling company is seeking an experienced Floorman to join the Operations Department of a drilling rig. Reporting directly to the Rig Superintendent, the Floorman will play a critical role in supporting safe and efficient rig floor operations.
The position involves providing operational support to the Driller and Derrickman, handling tubular equipment and drill tools, assisting with drilling activities, maintaining the rig floor, and ensuring that all assigned tasks are performed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
- Support the Driller and Derrickman during rig floor and drilling operations.
- Handle tubulars, drill pipes, drill tools, and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with drilling operations and other activities on the rig floor as directed.
- Perform housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and general upkeep of the rig floor.
- Follow all company safety procedures, instructions, and operational controls.
- Maintain a safe and organized working environment and immediately report unsafe conditions.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, including at least 6 months of experience as a Floorman.
- Previous experience as a Roustabout with a drilling company is required.
- High School education.
- Ability to safely handle tubular handling equipment and drilling tools.
- Good understanding of rig floor operations and drilling activities.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with company procedures.
- Valid STCW certificates: Not specified / N/A.
