Job Description:
We are recruiting an experienced Electrical Technician to join an offshore installation on a 3 weeks on / 4 weeks off rotation until April.
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and integrity of all electrical distribution systems onboard the installation. The role includes carrying out electrical maintenance activities, switching operations, fault finding, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards and company procedures.
The successful candidate will act as a Senior Authorised Person Electrical (SAPE) and perform duties as a Responsible Person Electrical (RPE) when competent and authorised. The position requires strong offshore electrical experience, including HV/MV systems, hazardous area operations, and emergency response duties.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Ensure safe operation, maintenance, and integrity of all electrical systems, including HV/LV switching operations.
Carry out routine inspections, fault finding, repairs, and planned maintenance activities.
Perform electrical isolations in accordance with the Permit to Work system.
Maintain electrical emergency systems and ensure operational readiness.
Manage electrical equipment, spare parts, inspection registers, and maintenance records within Maximo CMMS.
Support emergency response duties and act as a delegated Area Authority when required.
Requirements:
Valid offshore medical certificate (OGUK Medical)
Valid offshore survival and emergency response certifications
Combined Offshore Survival, Fire Fighting & HUET
MIST / IMIST certification
OGUK Certificate of Fitness to Participate in Emergency Response Team Duties
Electrical or E&I qualification recognised under the National Qualifications Framework OR completed registered/indentured apprenticeship
Proven practical experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and switching operations
HV/MV switching experience
Offshore installation experience preferred
