The Rig Electrician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be the Responsible Person, appointed by the OIM, for all electrical maintenance on the MODU and the operation of all electrical equipment.
The Rig Electrician will:
Implement, control and monitor all aspects of electrical maintenance and repair on board the MODU in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
Be responsible for the control and safety of all electrical equipment on the MODU.
Ensure all persons working on electrical equipment are competent to carry out the task safely and effectively.
Maintain the workplace in a clean and safe condition, to ensure personal protective equipment, and that of persons under supervision is properly used and cared for.
Immediately report to the Chief Engineer/Maintenance Supervisor, any hazard encountered or observed during the performance of his duties.
Participate fully in all Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives and safety programs and in pre-tour weekly safety meetings
Follow Diamond Offshore Global Excellence Management System (G.E.M.S.)
Perform other duties as required
Supervise the Electrical Maintenance activities on the MODU, ensuring such operations are carried out efficiently and in compliance with authorised operating procedures and Company policies.
Ensure all electrical equipment complies with statutory requirements and is maintained at all times in a safe condition.
Supervise the alteration of protective device settings having checked that the changes have been properly authorised.
Oversee specification, installation and commissioning of all new electrical equipment.
Arrange for the updating/modifications of electrical drawings, sketches and information on existing and replaced equipment as required.
Submit/assist with Modifications Authorisation Forms.
Carry out all Planned/Unplanned Maintenance on electrical equipment and maintain records in accordance with the LCE PM system.
Attain and maintain a good working knowledge of Safe Operating procedures as laid out in the Company's procedures manuals.
Ensure electrical spare parts and equipment are maintained in good condition and ready for use.
Ensure electrical personnel are competent to carry out their job safely and effectively.
Ensure the Company Permit to Work System is fully implemented.
Isolate, lock out, tag out or otherwise make safe any electrical/electronic equipment which is to be covered by a Permit to Work.
Ensure electrical personnel properly use and care for personal protective equipment and tools and, in addition, verify such equipment is at all times in a serviceable condition.
Take part in multi-discipline teams as operational requirements dictate.
Participate fully in all health, safety and environmental initiatives and programmes.
Carry out the duties assigned in the Station Bill in an emergency.

Willing and able to be away from home in excess of 21 days
Possess a valid passport.
Possess a valid BOSIET certification
Possess a valid MIST certification
Possess a valid OGUK Medical Certificate
Previous offshore drilling experience
