Atlas NextWave in Houston, United States is seeking experienced Derrickmen for temporary offshore drilling assignments on offshore drilling vessels.
This role involves working aloft in the derrick during drilling and tripping operations, supporting the Driller and rig crew, and maintaining drilling fluid systems. The position requires strong physical capability, excellent safety awareness, and the ability to work at extreme heights in a dynamic offshore environment.

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
• Handling upper sections of drill pipe, casing, and tubulars during tripping operations
• Operating the monkey board at heights up to 120 feet while secured with fall protection
• Racking stands in the fingerboard and guiding pipe using tugger lines under Driller’s instructions
• Monitoring and maintaining the mud circulating system (shale shakers, centrifuges, degassers)
• Mixing, testing, transferring, and tracking drilling fluids to API specifications
• Assisting the Mud Engineer with chemical additions and pit volume control
• Performing routine inspections of crown block sheaves, traveling block, and derrick structure
• Complying with permit-to-work systems, DROPS prevention, and fall protection procedures

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1–2 years experience as a Floorhand with proven climbing proficiency
• IWCF Well Control certification (Assistant Driller level)
• Valid STCW certificates (as applicable)
• Valid medical fitness certificate
• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs overhead
• Comfortable working at extreme heights and in offshore marine conditions
• Good English communication skills
