Job Description:
Transocean is currently seeking experienced Able Seafarers (AB) to join its offshore drilling fleet. Reporting directly to the Mate on Tour, the Able Seafarer is responsible for supporting marine and deck operations by performing cargo handling, maintenance, painting, firefighting and lifesaving equipment inspections, and general deck duties.
The successful candidate will assist in maintaining the safety, operational readiness, and integrity of the offshore installation while ensuring compliance with company Operational Discipline, HSE standards, and international maritime regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Carry out cargo handling, deck maintenance, painting, corrosion protection, and housekeeping duties.
Inspect, maintain, and operate lifesaving appliances, firefighting equipment, watertight doors, and marine safety systems.
Assist with helicopter operations, supply vessel cargo transfers, rig moves, and anchor handling activities.
Operate survival craft, rescue boats, lifting equipment, and cargo handling gear as required.
Participate in emergency drills, risk assessments, safety meetings, and ensure compliance with company HSE procedures.
Requirements:
Valid STCW certificates.
Valid Medical Fitness Certificate.
Proficiency in English communication.
Valid Unlimited Able Seafarer (AB) Certificate.
Valid STCW II/5 certification (where applicable).
Basic computer skills.
Valid vaccination certificates as required for the area of operation.
Basic mechanical skills and strong safety awareness.
Previous experience as an Able Seafarer in offshore or marine operations is preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding offshore environment and as part of a multicultural team.
