We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our amazing Engine Team as a Wiper RT aboard one of our fantastic vessels. As part of the Engine Team, Wiper RTs are responsible for cleaning and painting Engine Room spaces and machinery. This behind-the-scenes role plays a vital part in ensuring our ships are maintained to the highest standard so our guests can enjoy their FUN, memorable vacations. Joining Carnival as a Wiper RT is the first step towards a rewarding career onboard our Fun Ships. Candidates are expected to be adaptable and flexible to constant vessel/assignment changes every 2 weeks – 2 months within the contract period.

Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Participating in keeping the engine spaces and related areas clean and tidy at all times, including washing; also participating in maintenance work, mainly related to sanitizing equipment, under supervision
• Being responsible for cleanliness, sanitation, and elimination of pests in the garbage area, garbage cold storage room, and cooking oil tank room
• Monitoring and operating the incinerator plant and all related equipment, including the ash vacuum transport and packaging system; maintaining and cleaning the incinerator room and pulper room machinery spaces; reporting any issues or conditions to the engineer on duty
• Ensuring that all garbage handling equipment, such as shredders, conveyors, compactors, incinerators, refrigerators for garbage, pulper systems, drains, pumps, and pipes, are in good working order and in operational condition at all times; if inoperative, reporting the condition to the assigned Engineer
• Ensuring that all garbage bins are washed and rinsed, and all plastic containers are cleaned

Requirements:

• Valid STCW certificates
• Medical fitness certificate
• Proficiency in English communication
• Minimum 6 months of proven shipboard experience as a Wiper
• High School Diploma or Technical training
• Suitable applicant must be at least 21 years old

Employment Details:

• Contract Duration: First contract from January until June or July, followed by a 6–8 week break; second contract from mid/end of August until December (onboard planned from January until December 2023)
