Security Officer for Carnival Cruise Liner (International)

Job Description:
Carnival Cruise Line is looking for dedicated individuals to join the onboard Security Team as a Security Officer.

The Security Officer plays a vital role in overseeing vessel security operations and ensuring that the Company's Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures are effectively implemented during onboard activities.

The position is responsible for maintaining security and discipline throughout the vessel, carrying out duties assigned by the Ship's Command and/or Chief Security Officer, and supporting the implementation of the Ship Security Plan (SSP) and applicable international, national, corporate, and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
• Implement security measures in accordance with the Ship Security Plan (SSP), applicable regulations, company requirements, and instructions from senior officers.
• Support the Ship Security Officer (SSO) / Chief Security Officer with security familiarization and training for crew members and personnel with designated security duties.
• Conduct regular security assessments, inspections, drills, and exercises to ensure appropriate security measures are maintained.
• Coordinate the Security Team during daily operations and ensure the proper operation, testing, and maintenance of security equipment.
• Conduct crime prevention activities and crime scene management/investigations, manage security records, coordinate with port security authorities, and support emergency response operations.

Requirements:
• Relevant security qualifications and/or experience appropriate for the position
• Valid STCW certificates, where applicable
• Medical fitness certificate
• Proficiency in English communication
• Previous experience in maritime, vessel, security, law enforcement, military, or a similar environment may be required
• Ability to perform security screening, including physical searches and baggage/luggage screening
• Ability to work effectively as part of an onboard Security Team
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow company security procedures and instructions
