Job Description

A prestigious 70m Private/Charter Motor Yacht is seeking an experienced and confident Second Officer to join by mid-November. The yacht operates a busy dual-season programme with a strong charter schedule. During the upcoming winter season, the vessel will remain on standby in the Mediterranean for occasional owner trips.

The yacht has an established and experienced deck team, with several members having worked together for the past couple of years. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a high-standard, fast-paced programme and be confident in navigational watches and passage planning.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Conducting navigational watches safely and professionally.
• Assisting with passage planning and ensuring safe navigation.
• Maintaining and operating the vessel’s navigation equipment, including Transas ECDIS.
• Supporting the Captain and senior deck officers with day-to-day deck operations.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, security, and operational readiness.
• Supporting charter and owner operations as required.

Requirements

• Minimum OOW 3000 qualification.
• Strong previous experience as a Second Officer on large yachts.
• Confident and experienced in navigational watches and passage planning.
• Transas ECDIS experience is mandatory.
• Valid SSO (Ship Security Officer) or Designated Security Duties certification.
• Previous experience on busy charter yachts is highly advantageous.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively within an established deck team.
• A keen golfer with a decent handicap would be a significant advantage for this programme.
