Job Responsibilities
Depending on the assigned position, duties may include:
- Perform duties according to the assigned position and company procedures.
- Deliver high-quality guest service in accordance with Viking Ocean Cruises standards.
- Manage hotel, housekeeping, culinary, food & beverage, public health, or technical operations as applicable.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and presentation.
- Supervise and coordinate team members where required.
- Prepare and serve high-quality food and beverages.
- Monitor technical systems and equipment where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, HACCP, public health, and safety procedures.
- Participate in onboard safety drills and training.
- Work effectively within a professional multinational cruise crew.
Requirements
General Requirements
- Previous experience in the relevant position.
- Previous cruise ship / onboard experience is required for positions specifically marked as such.
- Cruise, hotel, luxury hospitality, culinary, or technical experience preferred depending on the role.
- Valid STCW certification where applicable.
- Valid Passport and Medical Certificate where required.
- Good English communication skills.
- Strong customer-service and teamwork skills.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Physically and medically fit for onboard employment.
Position-Specific Requirements
Hotel Purser
- Previous onboard cruise experience required.
- Strong administrative, guest-service, and organizational skills.
1st Housekeeper / Assistant Chief Housekeeper
- Previous onboard housekeeping experience required.
- Proven supervisory experience preferred.
Stateroom Steward / Stewardess
- Previous cruise or hotel housekeeping experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and guest-service skills.
Assistant Systems Manager
- Technical/systems management experience.
- Previous onboard experience preferred.
Public Health Officer
- Relevant public health, sanitation, or health-management qualifications.
- Previous onboard experience preferred.
Executive Chef / Chef de Cuisine / Sous Chef / Chef de Partie
- Professional culinary qualification.
- Relevant culinary experience in cruise ships, hotels, resorts, or luxury hospitality.
- Food safety and HACCP knowledge.
Head Waiter / Waiter / Waitress
- Previous onboard experience required where specified.
- Strong food & beverage and guest-service skills.
Lights & Technical Sound Technician
- Relevant technical qualification and experience with lighting, audio, and entertainment systems.
- Cruise or live-event experience preferred.
