Job Description:

A leading maritime recruitment agency is seeking a qualified and experienced 3rd Officer for long-term contracts on international cruise ships. The successful candidate will join the deck department of a large passenger vessel, responsible for ensuring navigational safety, watchkeeping, and the welfare of passengers and crew. The role operates on a standard maritime rotation schedule, with all living and working facilities provided on board the modern, well-equipped cruise liner.


Key Responsibilities:

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Standing navigational watches at sea and in port under the direction of the Officer of the Watch.

• Maintaining and updating nautical charts, publications, and navigational equipment.

• Assisting with cargo operations, stability calculations, and ballast control as required.

• Supervising a team of ratings and participating in safety, security, and emergency drills.

• Performing administrative duties related to the deck department, including record-keeping and reporting.

Requirements:

• Valid STCW certificates (including certification as Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch).

• Medical fitness certificate from an approved clinic.

• Proficiency in English communication (written and verbal).

• Previous experience in the same rank on a cruise ship or similar passenger vessel is mandatory.

• Minimum of 12 months of experience as a certified deck officer.


Employment Details:

• Contract Duration: 6 months onboard, followed by 2 months leave (6:2 rotation).

• Salary: Competitive, based on experience and in line with international cruise industry standards.

• Benefits: Accommodation and meals provided onboard. Contract completion bonus. Medical insurance. Travel to/from the vessel provided.
