Company Overview

Carnival Cruise Line is looking for dedicated 3rd Electro-Technical Officers (3rd ETO) to join its Electrical Team onboard cruise vessels.

The Electro-Technical Team is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, repairing and testing the vessel’s electrical and electronic systems, supporting safe and efficient ship operations.

Job Description

The 3rd ETO works as part of the Electro-Technical Team and supports the Staff Electro-Technical Officer (SETO) and Electro-Technical Officers (ETO) with the maintenance, repair and testing of electrical and electronic equipment throughout the vessel.

The position covers equipment in guest and crew areas, public spaces, Engine Room and other operational areas, including power generation, automation, communication, navigation and entertainment systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the SETO and ETOs with maintenance, repairs and routine testing of:
• Electrical and electronic equipment
• Communication, entertainment and selected IT systems
• Automation and control systems
• Electrical machinery and auxiliary systems in Engine and Hotel areas
• Assist with repairs of Galley and Laundry equipment managed by the Facility Department.
• Ensure automation systems, power generation, electricity management, propulsion systems and security systems remain operational under the supervision of the SETO.
• Complete additional assignments as required by shipboard operations and training.
• Apply all company Health, Environment, Safety and Security (HESS-MS) requirements.
• Follow all occupational health and safety procedures and maintain high safety standards.

As per company policy, all duties must be performed in accordance with Carnival’s safety, health, environmental, security and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Certificate of Competency — STCW Regulation III/6
• Basic Training Certificates in accordance with STCW standards.
• Minimum 12 months of shipboard experience on a cruise ship as an Electro-Technical Officer.
• Suitable applicants must be 21+ years old.
• Electro-Technical Engineer qualification preferred — Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with technical training.
• English language proficiency.
• Strong focus on ship safety management.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to represent the Carnival brand professionally.
• Compliance with Carnival’s Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Previous experience in the same capacity onboard a cruise ship is preferred.
