Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Sole Engineer to join a private motor yacht currently located in Europe, which will be based in the UAE following delivery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the engine room, technical systems, onboard safety, and planned maintenance.

Candidates must hold relevant engineering qualifications and have High Voltage and Lithium Battery training. A Y3 qualification is preferred.

Previous commercial marine engineering experience would be an advantage but is not essential. We are looking for someone passionate about engineering, confident in their abilities, personable, adaptable, and happy to be based in the UAE.

Important: Candidates must have an EU passport. Visible tattoos are strictly not permitted.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Managing the safe and efficient operation of the engine room and all engineering systems.
• Carrying out planned maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Monitoring engines, generators, electrical systems, and auxiliary machinery.
• Maintaining high standards of onboard safety and technical readiness.
• Managing engineering records, spare parts, and maintenance schedules.
• Following applicable safety procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
• Supporting the yacht’s operational requirements and coordinating technical work as needed.

Requirements

• Relevant marine engineering qualifications and experience as a Sole Engineer or in a similar role.
• Y3 qualification — preferred.
• High Voltage Certificate / training — required.
• Lithium Battery Certificate / training — required.
• EU passport — essential.
• Previous commercial marine engineering experience — advantageous, but not essential.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
• Professional, adaptable, and proactive attitude.
• Willingness to be based in the UAE following yacht delivery.
• No visible tattoos.
• Valid medical fitness certificate and other applicable maritime documents.

Employment Details

• Salary: USD 10,000 per month, depending on experience.
