Job Description:
OSM Thome is recruiting an Assistant Electrician to join a passenger ferry operating in European waters. The Assistant Electrician will support the safe and reliable operation of all electrical and electronic systems onboard, working closely with the vessel’s Electrician and technical team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a solid technical foundation and a strong commitment to safety and learning in a busy ferry environment.

Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
• Assisting with inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment
• Supporting troubleshooting of faults in power distribution, lighting, and control systems
• Helping maintain, test, and record emergency power and safety systems
• Carrying out routine checks, record keeping, and basic technical reporting
• Following safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and company policies at all times

Requirements:
• Valid STCW certificates appropriate to the position
• Valid Medical Fitness Certificate
• Previous sea service or relevant work experience as Assistant Electrician or similar role
• Basic knowledge of marine electrical systems and equipment
• Relevant electrical trade or technical education/certification
• Proficiency in English communication
• Team player with a safety-first mindset and willingness to learn
