Job Description

YachtCrew UK is seeking an experienced temporary Deckhand to join a 70m private motor yacht for a one-month assignment in the Mediterranean.

The successful candidate will join the yacht in Greece, assist during a two-week owner's trip, and then support the vessel during its crossing to Spain, where the assignment will end.

This is a hands-on position requiring solid deck knowledge, confidence with guest operations, and the ability to integrate quickly into an established crew. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a busy private yacht programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily deck operations and general vessel maintenance.
• Carry out washing, cleaning, polishing, and upkeep of exterior areas.
• Support guest operations during the owner's two-week trip.
• Assist with tender operations, guest transfers, and watersports activities where required and appropriately qualified.
• Help prepare deck areas and equipment for guest use.
• Support safe mooring, anchoring, and other deck operations under the supervision of senior crew.
• Assist with preparations for the yacht's crossing from Greece to Spain.
• Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and presentation.
• Follow instructions from senior deck crew and comply with onboard procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the wider crew throughout the assignment.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Deckhand aboard a motor yacht.
• Solid practical deck knowledge and maintenance skills.
• Previous experience supporting guest operations.
• Ability to join the team and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proactive, reliable, and professional attitude.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• EU-based candidates only.
• Male candidates only due to cabin arrangements.
• Valid STCW certificates and ENG1 medical certificate, where applicable to the role.
• Valid Schengen visa in hand if required.
• Availability for the full one-month assignment and the Greece-to-Spain itinerary.
