Job Description

YachtCrew UK is seeking an experienced Deckhand to join a well-established 70m private/charter motor yacht in the Mediterranean at the end of October 2026.

The yacht has a strong charter track record, an experienced deck team, and a positive onboard culture focused on training, professional development, and crew longevity.

The yacht is currently operating in the Mediterranean, with one final owner's trip scheduled before entering a winter yard period in Barcelona. A busy Mediterranean summer season is planned for 2027, while the yacht's winter plans for 2027 are still to be confirmed.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and reliable team player with at least two previous seasons of yachting experience and a solid understanding of daily deck operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine deck maintenance, including washing, cleaning, polishing, and exterior detailing.
  • Assist with mooring, anchoring, and other deck operations under the supervision of senior crew.
  • Support guest operations during private and charter trips.
  • Assist with tender operations, guest transfers, and watersports activities where required and appropriately qualified.
  • Prepare deck areas and equipment for guest use.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of tenders and watersports equipment.
  • Support the yacht's final owner's trip and subsequent winter yard period in Barcelona.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and presentation throughout the vessel.
  • Participate in onboard training and professional development activities.
  • Follow company procedures and contribute to a positive, professional crew environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum two previous seasons of yachting experience – essential.
  • Previous experience as a Deckhand aboard a private or charter motor yacht.
  • Good practical knowledge of deck maintenance and exterior detailing.
  • Experience supporting guest operations and tender duties.
  • Proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively within an established deck team.
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach to guest service.
  • Valid STCW certificates and ENG1 medical certificate, where required for the position.
  • No US visa required.
  • Valid Schengen visa in hand if required. Candidates who require a Schengen visa must already hold a valid visa, as the yacht's winter location does not allow the employer to take on crew without one.
  • Male candidates only due to cabin arrangements.
  • Availability to join at the end of October 2026.
