Job Description:
Carnival Cruise Line is seeking an Assistant Joiner & Carpenter to support the maintenance and refurbishment of Guest and Crew areas onboard a cruise ship. The position involves carrying out repairs, refurbishment and new installations under the direction of the Team Leader, as well as routine inspections and night-call assistance.
The role also includes assisting with freshwater bunkering operations when designated by the Team Leader/Facilities Maintenance Manager. Employees are expected to follow company health, safety and environmental procedures and correctly use tools, equipment and PPE.

Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
• Carry out refurbishment, repairs and new installations in Guest and Crew areas as instructed by the Team Leader.
• Perform routine inspections of doors, handles, locks, hinges, malfunctions and loose trim/decorations in assigned areas.
• Provide night-call assistance on a rotational basis as scheduled.
• Assist with freshwater bunkering operations when designated by the Team Leader/Facilities Maintenance Manager.
• Use tools, equipment and PPE correctly and ensure all company OH&S requirements are followed.

Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the field; technical training preferred
• High School Diploma
• Applicant must be 21+ years old
• Basic STCW Training
• English language proficiency
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Shipboard experience in the same capacity on a cruise ship — preferred
