Job Description:
Carnival Cruise Line is seeking an ETO Cadet to join the Electrical and Technical Department onboard one of its cruise vessels.
This position is designed for candidates developing their career in Electro-Technical operations. Working under the supervision of the Staff Electro-Technical Officer and Electro-Technical Officers, the ETO Cadet will gain practical experience in electrical systems, automation, power generation, propulsion, navigation equipment, guest-service systems, and onboard safety procedures.
The position is offered on a 4 months onboard / 2 months vacation rotation.

Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
• Assist the Staff Electro-Technical Officer and Electro-Technical Officers with maintenance and routine testing of instruments, automation systems, and electrical equipment.
• Develop working knowledge of automation systems, power generation, electricity management, propulsion systems, security systems, and electrical motors.
• Learn to perform routine checks, maintenance, and record-keeping for electrical machinery and equipment.
• Gain practical experience with navigation equipment such as Radar and GMDSS and guest-service systems including TV, telephone, and entertainment equipment.
• Learn to operate medium/low-voltage systems and onboard switchboards, including the emergency switchboard, while participating in drills, training, and HESS-MS safety requirements.

Requirements:
• Valid STCW certificates as required for the position
• Relevant Electro-Technical / Electrical education or qualification
• Medical fitness certificate
• Proficiency in English communication
• Interest in developing a career as an Electro-Technical Officer
• Ability and willingness to learn electrical, automation, and electronic systems
• Ability to work safely and follow company Occupational Health and Safety and HESS-MS procedures
