Job Description

A-Z? No — Scout Crew is seeking an experienced Mate holding a Yachtmaster (YM) qualification to cover a six-week yard period in the United States.

The ideal candidate will be well-organized, hands-on, and comfortable carrying out practical maintenance work. Strong experience in painting, caulking, and general yacht upkeep is essential. Candidates already based in the US will be given preference; however, applications from overseas candidates are welcome if they hold a valid B1/B2 visa.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Assist with yacht maintenance and preparation during the yard period.
• Carry out painting, caulking, and general cosmetic upkeep.
• Support repair and maintenance tasks as required.
• Keep work areas organized, clean, and safe.
• Work closely with the Captain and other crew or yard personnel to complete tasks on schedule.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Mate aboard a yacht.
• Yachtmaster (YM) qualification.
• Practical experience in painting, caulking, and general yacht maintenance.
• Strong organizational skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Candidates currently based in the US are preferred.
• Overseas applicants must hold a valid B1/B2 visa.
• Relevant STCW certificates and a valid medical certificate, where applicable.
