Job Description

South Point is recruiting an experienced Messman to join an LNG Bunker Vessel operating in Singapore waters.

The Messman will assist with messroom and galley duties, serve meals to the crew, maintain cleanliness in designated accommodation areas and support the catering team as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with meal service and messroom duties.
• Maintain cleanliness in the messroom and assigned accommodation areas.
• Support the Chief Cook with basic galley tasks and food preparation, where required.
• Clean and maintain catering equipment and utensils.
• Follow onboard hygiene, sanitation and safety procedures.
• Assist with catering stores and supplies as instructed.

Requirements

• Malaysian nationality – mandatory.
• Previous experience onboard LNG vessels – mandatory.
• Previous experience as a Messman or in a similar shipboard catering role is preferred.
• Valid STCW certificates and applicable medical fitness certification.
• Valid passport and seaman’s book.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safe cleaning procedures.
• Familiarity with LNG bunkering operations is an advantage.
• Good command of English.
• Availability to join in December 2026.
