Job Description

Columbia Shipmanagement Indonesia is recruiting a Messman to join a Bulk Carrier vessel.

The successful candidate will assist with catering and housekeeping duties onboard, including meal service, cleaning of messroom areas and maintaining hygiene standards in designated accommodation spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with serving meals to the crew.
• Maintain cleanliness in the messroom and assigned accommodation areas.
• Support the Cook with basic galley duties when required.
• Clean and maintain catering equipment and utensils.
• Assist with handling and storing catering supplies.
• Follow onboard hygiene, sanitation and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Previous sea-going experience as a Messman or in a similar catering position.
• Bulk Carrier experience is preferred.
• Relevant professional qualifications or certificates, where applicable.
• Valid STCW certificates appropriate to the position.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Valid passport and seafarer documents.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Good English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multinational crew.
