Job Description
Riverside Mozart is one of the most luxurious river cruise ships operating on the Danube, featuring 81 suites, 5 restaurants and bars, a Spa & Fitness area and butler service for every guest.
We are seeking an experienced Waiter/Waitress to join the onboard Restaurant team and provide exceptional five-star service across the ship's Food & Beverage outlets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an outstanding dining experience, maintaining excellent service standards and ensuring assigned service stations are fully stocked, organized and compliant with HACCP requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional five-star food and beverage service during restaurant operating hours.
- Serve guests in assigned restaurants and other F&B outlets, including Blue, Bistro and open deck Grill areas as required.
- Ensure assigned service stations are clean, organized and fully stocked.
- Provide attentive and personalized service to guests, including those with special needs and dietary requirements.
- Follow section plans, work schedules and service rotations.
- Maintain smooth and efficient service through constant communication with guests, the Restaurant team and Galley.
- Handle guest comments and complaints professionally and report issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene in accordance with HACCP and Port Health Authority regulations.
- Assist with inventory of glasses, utensils, china and other restaurant equipment.
- Ensure all restaurant equipment is stored securely and maintained properly.
- Report maintenance issues and follow up on work orders.
- Assist with stores loading, breakfast service, gangway duties, luggage handling and other tasks when scheduled.
- Attend daily meetings and all company training sessions.
- Maintain proper uniform standards, personal hygiene and professional appearance.
- Complete Work Registration Forms accurately and submit them on time.
- Follow all company policies, manuals, procedures and directives.
Financial & Safety Responsibilities
- Treat vessel property, equipment and supplies with care.
- Minimize breakage of crockery, glassware and other restaurant equipment.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly.
- Follow safe lifting techniques at all times.
- Ensure equipment is properly and securely stored after use.
- Maintain a safe working environment throughout all duties.
Requirements
- College Degree/Diploma, Hotel School qualification or successful apprenticeship in the Food Service industry.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Waiter in a luxury international hotel, or preferably 2 years of experience as a Waiter in the luxury cruise industry.
- Previous professional Waiter/Waitress experience – mandatory.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Excellent interpersonal and guest-communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Very good knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
- Good product and beverage knowledge.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability and willingness to complete onboard HACCP training.
- Initiative and ability to work independently.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Outgoing, charming and service-oriented personality.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to attend daily meetings and continuous company training.
