Job Description
Virjen Shipping Corporation is recruiting a Messman for VLGC / VLCC vessels. The Messman will support the catering department with meal service, mess-room duties, cleaning, housekeeping, and general accommodation services onboard.
Key Responsibilities
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with meal preparation and serving.
- Maintaining cleanliness of mess rooms, accommodation areas, and assigned spaces.
- Washing dishes, utensils, and galley equipment.
- Assisting the Chief Cook with catering-related duties.
- Following onboard hygiene, food safety, and housekeeping procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Messman on merchant or tanker vessels.
- Valid STCW certificates.
- Valid Medical Fitness Certificate.
- Valid Seafarer's Book and passport.
- Good knowledge of onboard hygiene and housekeeping procedures.
- Proficiency in English communication.
