We are currently looking for an experienced Cook to join a General Cargo Vessel operating in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing daily meals for the crew, maintaining high standards of hygiene, and managing galley operations in line with company procedures and maritime regulations.
This role is suitable for cooks with seagoing experience who are organised, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently onboard.
As per company policy, duties may include but are not limited to:
• Preparation and serving of daily meals for crew
• Menu planning and food stock management
• Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
• Maintaining cleanliness of galley, stores, and mess areas
• Monitoring food supplies and minimizing waste
• Compliance with company procedures and maritime health regulations
• Supporting crew welfare onboard
• UK Right to Work – mandatory
• Valid Cook Certificate of Competency (CoC)
• Valid STCW certificates
• Valid Seafarer Medical Certificate
• Seaman’s Book
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
• Previous experience as a Cook onboard vessels (preferred)
• Ability to work independently in a maritime environment
• Good English communication skills
